I bought my Infiniti in 2014. At that time, Apple CarPlay had not become a common feature in vehicles, and most factory multimedia systems were still designed around traditional connections like USB, AUX, or iPod port.
When I first got the car, I was satisfied with the factory stereo. It matched the interior, worked reliably, and provided everything I needed at that time. I never wanted to replace the original head unit just to add new features.
However, as smartphones and digital music became a bigger part of daily life over the years, I started looking for a way to connect my phone to the original sound system. I wanted to keep the factory look and functionality while making it easier to use my phone for music.
I had been looking for a solution like this for years. I didn’t want a basic Bluetooth receiver that required using an AUX connection or changing how the factory system worked. I wanted something that could work with the original iPod interface.

The audio quality has been good during daily use. One thing I noticed is that the volume level can be different compared with normal radio, so I usually adjust the volume when switching between sources.
The adapter itself is also very practical. Its small size makes it easy to place in the center console, and since it is powered through USB, I don’t have to worry about charging or battery life.
After using it for some time, I think the biggest advantage is that it gives older factory audio systems a new way to work with modern smartphones.
Instead of replacing the factory stereo, I can keep the original system and still connect my phone to play music through the car speakers.
